Darling, the time you spend daydreaming or wandering is never time wasted.
We know that inspiration comes from deep within our souls and most cherished memories.
Let’s live in a world where our favourite messages arrive in the mail, not our inboxes, where our connections to people we love and have loved are honoured…
…because we believe in that perfect day you spent exchanging hopes and fears and tears and laughter with a friend, and a golden afternoon when the tune of a song half-remembered from childhood unwinds itself in your heart like a spell.
We’re grounded by the inevitability of change and loss and with that in mind we are holding a space with you for beautiful wishes and memories.
Our muse is nostalgia. Our dreams and our memories are endless gardens that bloom with inspiration.
With open hearts we offer 18 Love Notes.
I came from a musical family.
When I grew up it was everywhere and I learned to love it in a variety of forms and styles, through my reggae musician father, my church-going great-grandmother, my mother who exposed me to classical music, folk music, protest songs, dub poetry, Nina Simone and Patsy Cline, and my dear little radio, a gift on my 9th birthday which I slept with under my pillow, cozy and warm, tuning-in to old and new music from all over the world.
Today I keep music alive in my home along with memories of my beloved family members in every way possible. At home we sing, we clap hands, we dance and play instruments, we enjoy records, tapes, CDs and in quieter moments the dulcet notes of our music boxes.
Shortly before beginning in music box design I lost someone that was incredibly dear to me in a very traumatic way and it was a turning point in my life. It changed the way I think about connectivity, communication and closeness. My appreciation for these bonds of kinship and friendship grew tenfold. Because of this, to have the ability to come into your life at a uniquely special moment, whether it be a celebratory or a more sorrowful one, and stand there in that space with you, with work that comes from my heart and pours out of my hands is a blessing to me. You help in my healing and I love being a small part of your story and the beautiful things to come for you.
